Technology Overview
e3 is an SCR process (Selective Catalytic Reduction). It's an entirely different technology, one that is farmer friendly.
When farmers think of emissions technology, they think of EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) and the problems long-haul truckers and other users have long experienced: loss of power, increased costs and excessive rejection of combustion temperature.
e3 is designed to deliver all the energy you need – in the form of undiminished horsepower and torque. It also delivers better fuel economy than the EGR approach – up to 15 percent better.
Most importantly, e3 delivers cleaner emissions. SCR technology treats the downstream exhaust with Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)/AdBlue which breaks down into harmless nitrogen and water vapor.
Bottom line, the e3 process, along with electronic engine management, allows these AGCO SISU POWER diesel engines to run better, stay cooler and last longer.
